This precision laser cut steel modification plate allows you to turn your tailgate into a locked compartment within your car. You can use the space to store recovery gear, spare parts or anything else that will fit and you want to keep secure.
This is a DIY kit and requires you to trim away some of the metal in the tailgate. To assist with this, we provide step by step easy to follow instructions and a handy template to show where the cuts are required. This can be performed with tin snips, a jigsaw or an angle grinder.
By default, the kit will be painted black and ship with all mounting hardware required such as nuts, bolts, hinge and associated rivets as well as the heavy duty low profile locks. Dense foam sound deadening material is included as well to protect the interior of your tailgate. The first two pictures show the current lock type that we are using, it is a 'pop lock' style flush mount rather than the larger circular ones seen in some of the images.
You have the option of also ordering a marine carpet finish. Marine carpet is highly recommended unless you plan to cover the tailgate yourself as the powder coating will get damaged over time without it.
Tailgate is not included in the sale, this kit is supplied so that you can fit it to your existing tailgate. Please allow at least one week handling time for your kit to be assembled, packed and picked up by our couriers. This unit is not compatible with the factory swing out spare tire carrier that latches onto the back of the lower tailgate unless you also plan to remove the tire carrier latching mechanism.
I am very impressed on the quality of this product! It is a well built storage container for your tailgate and a show stopper at truck meets. As far as installation goes it is very easy and took just a little over an hour to fit.

Amazing product! Installation was pretty easy and the end result was stellar. Deff worth doing for anyone who needs additional secure, lockable storage.
Item is really well made, spacious interior and the shell takes a beating and works great. Offloaded rocks this weekend and the latches survived with no damage.
